sometimes i feel like i’m losing a part of myself. when your in a relationship, you give a part of yourself to that person. but i’m going to fess up, i’m not an especially giving person, so it’s been hard for me to do that. i kind of feel like parts of myself are kind of disintegrating and i don’t really like the feeling. i’m going to regain my full sense of self and independence over the summer. i think it’s possible to be in a relationship and still have a full sense of independence, and i don’t care how difficult it is, i’m gonna do it. regardless, i guess a little dependency is a trade-off with being in a relationship. but i don’t want to ever EVER be dependent on one person for my happiness. that’s a recipe for disaster. i’m starting to get a little too comfortable here with having just one or two friends and i want to open up to more people and have a larger group of acquaintances/friends. luckily for me, college is the perfect opportunity to do so :)
